More 10.5.6 Flakiness: Expose Stops Working

February 18th, 2009 Leave a comment Go to comments

Here’s another thing that’s been bothering me since the OS X 10.5.6 update. Once or twice a day Expose simply stops working. I use the F9 and F11 keys a lot during the course of day on my Mac. But, ever since the 10.5.6 update, Expose stops working at least once a day and sometimes more often. I’ve found that logging out and then logging back in resolves the issue. But, it would be far better if Expose simply worked 100% of the time.

This happens to me every now and again, and I’ve found that it’s actually quite easily fixed… I just restart the Dock and ScreenSaverEngine (if running). This can be done through the terminal: “killall Dock ScreenSaverEngine”. Hopefully this helps…

Also, possibly of note, I need to use this specifically when I have PixelBreaker’s PolarClock3 set as my screensaver. They know about this, and apparently haven’t fixed it since over a year ago…

I have the same issue here, but I don’ t think you need to log out log in to temporarily fix it.

In my case I just open system monitor and close the dock process, that do the trick for me.

    BEAUTIFUL!
I was getting really frustrated with this bug so this is a big relief for me!
